  • Howdy everybody!! – Well I am headed to take my continuing education for my plumbing liscense tomorrow – Its a no fail class that is boring – Yes boring – Just got back from a little cruise around the Woodlands on the Boulevard – Man what a cool feeling cruising it is – Honestly had to came back because of my back hurting but hey I am getting alot better – It was 1-1/2 hours so I did last a little while – My sister Beckylw sent me this info on Iraq – I myself am waiting to see the money to go to 20 cents or more – When it does I will be set and be one spoilt traveler – But there really is alot of information we all didn’t know about the progress of Iraq – Myself seen how much the Iraqi’s appreciates all we do hands on – Here is the list Becky gave me –

Did you know that 25 Iraq students departed for the United States in
January 2005 for the re-established Fulbright program?

Did you know that the Iraqi Navy is operational?! They have 5-
    100-foot
patrol craft, 34 smaller vessels and a naval infantry regiment.

Did you know that Iraq‘s Air Force consists of three operational
squadrons, which includes 9 reconnaissance and 3 US C-130 transport aircraft (under Iraqi operational control) which operate day and night, and will soon add 16 UH-1 helicopters and 4 Bell Jet Rangers?

Did you know that Iraq has a counter-terrorist unit and a Commando
    Battalion?

Did you know that the Iraqi Police Service has over 55,000 fully  trained
    and equipped police officers?

Did you know that there are 5 Police Academies in Iraq that produce
over 500 new officers each 8 weeks?

Did you know there are more than 1100 building projects going on in Iraq?

They include 364 schools, 67 public clinics, 15 hospitals, 83 railroad stations, 22 oil facilities, 93 water facilities and 69 electrical facilities.

Did you know that 96% of Iraqi children under the age of 5 have
received the first 2 series of polio vaccinations?

Did you know that 4.3 million Iraqi children were enrolled in primary
    school by mid October?

Did you know that there are 1,192,000 cell phone subscribers in Iraq
and phone use has gone up 158%?

Did you know that Iraq has an independent media that consists of 75
radio stations, 180 newspapers and 10 television stations?
Did you know that 47 countries have reestablished their embassies in
    Iraq?

Did you know that the Iraqi government currently employs 1.2 million
    Iraqi people?

Did you know that 3100 schools have been renovated, 364 schools are
under rehabilitation, 263 schools are now under construction and 38 new schools have been built in Iraq?

Did you know that Iraq‘s higher educational structure consists of 20
Universities, 46 Institutes or colleges and 4 research centers, all currently operating?

Did you know that the Baghdad Stock Exchange opened in June of 2004?

Did you know that 2 candidates in the Iraqi presidential election had
    a televised debate recently?

    OF COURSE YOU DIDN’T KNOW . . . AND I DIDN’T KNOW!

WHY DIDN’T WE KNOW? OUR MEDIA WOULDN’T TELL US!

Instead of reflecting our love for our country, we get photos of flag
burning incidents at Abu Ghraib and people throwing snowballs at the presidential motorcades.

The lack of accentuating the positive in Iraq serves two purposes. It is intended to undermine the world’s perception of the United States, thus minimizing consequential support, and it is intended to discourage American
    citizens.

*** Above facts are verifiable on the Department of Defense web site.

Being Americans we can really hold our heads high thats for sure!! – I wish everybody a mighty fine Easter – Its a sad day to me and my familly because of my mother passed away on Easter Sunday -= I know she doesn’t want us fretting over that so I wewnt and got me a nice Easter Sunday Church shirt – So Happy Easter and I will check in Monday – John

  • Hope you enjoyed the boring class as much as the cruising.  We have to take the bad with the good.  Thanks for accentuating the positive.

    HUGS!

    Ciao, mi amico!

  • One soldier from our church, David Bellavia, has a website to make sure people know the truth about Iraq.  He is saying the same thing you do, that the media isn’t telling us the whole story.  Thanks for posting the info.  Everybody needs to know that fighting oppression or helping someone to put down oppression is not wrong.

  • RYC:  Are you going to leave a jelly bean trail to the baskets?  I learned the difference between cable elevators and hydraulic lift elevators as a result.  We were safe because it was a lift.  I don’t go up fifty floor buildings cuz the elevators scare me too much.

  • Well, hello again ;)

    yeah..plants are perkin’ up a bit..lol :)

ya know….EASTER, is comin’ up…lmao!  (had to do it).

I hear it’s getting hot, in good ole’ Texas…woohoo….kinda on a roller coaster, here in Indiana.. But, i can just ‘feel it in my bones’…nice weather is on the way! ;)

    hugs!:)

  • Your little angel will love hunting for Easter eggs. Enjoy it while you can. They grow up so fast. Before you know it you will be having to beat the young men away from the door. LOL

I agree that we will never see any thing like what you posted about Iraq in the so calle main stream media. http://flf.michaelyon-online.com/ this is a link to a forum for the soldiers to tell their stories in their own words. If you have time check it out. Michael also has great dispatches.

Have a blessed week & God keep you safe, healthy & happy.

  • Just dropping by to say we miss you…Great post…Kisses and hugs from sunny FLORIDA…Sis Pris

  • No…why would you even think that? And how often do I go FOREVER without hearing from you? I have just been incredibly busy with the house stuff and life. Been sick with a cold and fibro here lately too. I’m sorry. I just figured Alina was keeping you up to speed. Forgive me? Thanks for the new email addie tho. I will try to do better. I sure hope I can make this work…this house thing. The kids seem to think it’s easy. But then I have to come up with alot of energy and $$$$. Having a moving sale….in the market for a bunch of junk? lol We will keep you posted…Say hello to the family. Did Alina tell you we have Davids Church bookmarked? Haven’t had much time to get over for services yet but WE WILL!!!!!! Love & HUGS! teri
